a month agoWas working in the DC area and decided to give this place a try as parking was limited to where I could choose. Ended up ordering two pupusas and a steak and cheese combo (with no onions or tomato). Unfortunately I got my food to go and was not able to inspect my food before leaving as I made it very clear with my special instructions for the sub hoping they will listen. 20 minutes later when I get back to my workplace the tragedy happened.... ONIONS AND TOMATOES ON MY SUB :( I called them back and the guy who took the order was sorry about the mistake and was offering to remake the food... definitely not worth it for me to go back and get it again as it wasn't that good looking. The pupusas on the other hand, ate them up completely. Down 20$ and a lunch for the day, Horchata was pretty good as well. Food quality to the pricing does not reflect correctly.

a month agoI love this place. The family fully operates this lively restaurant / bar and serves the best pupusas and my favorite lomo saltado- but don’t skip the steak tacos. Whatever mama marinates that steak in I end up having it 2-3 times a week. The micheladas are delicious too. Stop by this no frills venue from the 80’s for some laughs with the locals and industry folk who end their night here post shift. Love Judy’s and the staff.

7 months agoActual nightmare fuel. This food was severely overpriced for the quality that was served. Taste like middle school lunch food and seriously, we’re serving sticky white rice with our food? If you enjoy cold and brick like beans then you’ll love this one! The meat in the burrito was the only good thing. Everything else was like bunker food. All in all, if you love your body and want delicious food, AVOID this place.

a year agoJust an amazing experience here. Service was fantastic and quick, I was greeted kindly upon entering was given some recommendations. I ended up with 3 Pupusas and a slice of Tres Leches. Everything was spectacular, possibly the best iterations of both items I've ever had. Very fair prices as well. I highly recommend!

a year agoGo eat here ASAP. Everything was awesome. Had this place on my list for a long time, should’ve visited sooner. Waitress was lovely, drinks were excellent, food was bomb. We ordered the jalapeño queso which went very well with the salsa they bring upon arrival. The Salsa is low-level spicy, very good. I believe we got the spicy tamarind and spicy pineapple margaritas, both good enough for refills. For entrees, Trio of Enchiladas and Queso smothered Steak Burrito (Azteca?). We ate it all. Burrito was amazing, would order again. If I *had* to mention a negative, I think we had one tiny piece of steak that was inedible because of gristle. Oh and the trio enchilada has 2 meat, 1 cheese… I’d prob ask if you can sub the cheese for a meat as the cheese enchilada was unremarkable. Don’t let the outdated signage sway your decision like my gf almost did, this place is 100% legit. 4.6 rating stands up, should be higher. Will be dining in again.

a year agoGreat food at a great price! My friend and I ordered tamales, pupusas, and yucca, and they were all very tasty and filling. We also got a michelada and a tamarindo margarita, which were also good. It was a little quiet but the service was very good - they filled our water glasses frequently. Would definitely go back!

a year agoA cool mix of Mexican, Peruvian and El Salvadorian food. Food was yummy and the price point is almost unreal for DC. We ordered a whole bunch of food and ended up paying less than 25 per person. Would definitely recommend this solid sitdown spot.

2 years agoIf you want great food for a great price come here. You'll leave with a belly full of delicious food. On my visit I got to try the Judy's Combination that came with a chicken tamal, taco de res, and a beef enchilada. Everything was delicious, but I think if I had to order them I'd say the enchilada was my favorite and the taco the res was my second favorite. The tamal was good, but I'd rather switch it out for another enchilada.
